Text messaging, calls or emails are probably the most foolish way for people conspiring to commit crimes to communicate.
Look at this, the main evidence presented against Vybz Kartel was:
The court was shown a text message sent by Kartel which said that 'Lizard' (the victim) was chopped up 'fine-fine'.
And in a voice note he was heard threatening to do harm to 'lizard' if he did not get back his guns by the 8 p.m. on August 14, 2011.
Any statements of amounts or measurements might as well be a written confession.
I really wish people wouldn't be so ignorant about this... like, seriously people. Phones, texts, emails are bugs as far as confidentiality is concerned, no joke.
Cover your tracks, more so for 'cheaters' like me, you'll get caught!
